Full disclosure: I curate this list for you to help you find where you can get some of these more rare carving materials - if you purchase through some of these links, I earn a small commission on qualifying purchases which helps support this site.  Thank you for your help!

Speedball - Speedy Carve

  • Otherwise known as "the pink stuff", this is a trusty stamp carving rubber that is pretty popular in North America and is one of the most easily found materials.  It is pretty soft, though the most recent formulation of it is a little too much so.  Great for beginners!
  • Find it here: Amazon

Speedball - Speedy Cut

  • Crumbly and somewhat unpleasant, this beige carving material will dissolve quite quickly - so beware if you're planning on carving your masterpiece with this! However, because it is so soft, it is good for early beginners or younger carvers out there.
  • Review: Beware of Speedy Cut
  • Find it here: Amazon

Speedball - Speedy Cut Blue

  • Just as crumbly as Speedy Cut, this stuff often feels like carving compressed cotton candy.
  • Find it here: Amazon

SEED - Horunabi - soft type

SEED - Horunabi

Daiso - Eraser Stamp block

Hankeshi-kun - Hinodewashi

  • Not really sure were to find it these days...
Aurora (Glow-in-the-dark) - Hinodewashi

Moo Carve

No name - sandwich-style block

No name - solid coloured block

  1. I have a piece of clear carving stamp. Haven't carved it yet and don't remember where I got it. You can place this see-thru carving stamp over your design to guide what you can to carve.
